Full Moon in Aries – Breaking Through

You may already be feeling the energy of this swelling Aries moon, which will become full this Wednesday. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and deals with our primary needs, survival, the things we can not ‘be’ without. This is the sign of the ‘I’ and it’s ruled by Mars, the planet of action and fire. The full moon in Aries is calling us to pay attention to those non negotiable ‘I’ needs and to have a proper look at ourselves within relationship (Sun in Libra): What is it in ‘I’ that could be blocking the ‘us’? or, on the other hand, where in ‘us’ am I? Am I being heard, seen? This is the counterpart of the new moon in Libra at the beginning of this month and it will challenge or inspire us within relationship.

This full moon is calling the (fiery) emotions ruled by Mars to come out, the water is boiling, and we must pay attention to feelings of anger, or even rage – how do we deal with this emotions and how can we let them out without ‘burning’ others or ourselves? This fire is wanting to transform something in our lives that is stuck and this full moon is the portal through which this will be unstuck.

Mercury is going direct, but for the next few days it’ll be stationary – an even stronger energy than it going retrograde – it is important to think before we talk, as we could say things we may regret and not be able to take them back. Sometimes it is best to leave the room or go outside if we feel a volcano erupting within – finding an alternative way of channeling those emotions, perhaps through bodywork or the arts, using this energy in a creative way.

How do we take this planetary energy to the mat?

Wednesday’s class we will explore the energy of the Aries full moon during a Restorative and Yoga Nidra class – inviting our subconscious to talk to us while we allow those feelings and emotions to get unstuck in a safe environment.
Sunday’s will be a Morning Flow Yoga class – working with transforming that fire energy into wellbeing, more of a higher energy class. You can book both classes here online or in studio.

Wishing you a fantastic week.

A New Way to Relate – New Moon in Libra

Author Unknown

This week we have a stellium (a group of more than three planets) in Libra. Libra is to do with balance and our relationships or how we relate. A New Moon in Libra this Wednesday – the Moon is to do with our home, family, emotions, safe place…; marks a new cycle on how we relate in important relationships, be it romantic, friendship or partnerships.

These last two years have shaken our foundations and what we see as a priority now is most probably not the same as it was before. What we need to feel safe has changed or is changing and we have felt or are feeling these changes unfold. As we are finding this new balance within ourselves, how do we address this same balance within our relationships?

The next 6 months – up until the Libra Full Moon in April 2022 where the cycle ends – are a period of exploration to find clarity, first within, and then out in the relationship. It is important that we are honest with ourselves to then bring that honesty out to how we relate. Mercury retrograde, now at the mid-point of its retrogradation, is a great period for reflection, going inwards, feeling things and being able to uncover these important changes from within.

A few other planets retrograding at the moment, such as Pluto (transformation) and Saturn (boundaries and rules) are going direct towards the end of the week so perhaps we will start seeing those changes and new plans or boundaries being set.
A relating re-birth.

We are bringing this energy down to our mat this week by enquiring within to find that balance: ‘Is my practice true to me? Am I listening to my body when I practise? Is my mind engaged?’ There’ll be an emphasis on feeling the poses we practise with a fresh new perspective and self-adjusting those imbalances. This is yoga working for you. Your body, your yoga. I will be guiding you to listen even more now.

This week’s Evening Flow Yoga is a Restorative and Yoga Nidra session, both live and online. As we are ‘blackmooning’ during the beginning of the week until the new moon, the energies are normally lower and it is important to restore and replenish.

Restorative yoga is restful, nourishing and healing – emphasising in comfort and deep rest, allowing the body to heal without interference.
Inducing deep relaxation, restorative yoga will help your blood pressure and stress hormone levels to drop, reducing anxiety and helping you sleep better.
It can also have therapeutic effects on the heart, and on the immune, digestive and other physiological systems.

Yoga Nidra translates as ‘the yogic sleep’ – a deep state of consciousness when we are neither asleep nor awake but experience total physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Even a short nidra can completely nourish and refresh the mind and body. Yoga Nidra is like natural medicine for anxiety and insomnia.

Sunday’s Morning Flow Yoga will run as usual (online and live).

✨ Wishing you a magical week ✨

💦🐡New Moon in Pisces🐡💦

This was exact at 10.21am UK time this morning.

This new moon is ethereal and otherworldly, Pisces wants you to explore and go beyond past limits of your imagination, visiting new unseen realms within your psyche. Pay attention to your dreams. This is a great time to submerge yourself in any creative form of expression, painting, dancing, writing… whatever gets you ‘in the flow’ – watery Pisces is asking you to feel, letting go of mind restrictions.

I am feeling this Piscean energy strongly as I am writing this up in The Glass House, listening to the persistent rain tapping on the glass roof this morning.

These are a few ideas for you to try today and the next few days:

🐠 Pranayama: there are certain pranayama techniques which help calming the nervous system, mostly by lengthening the exhale and using breath retentions (holding your breath).

🐠 Meditation: make use of this natural watery soundscape and meditate for a few minutes. Burn some sage/ palo santo to clear the space or use any essential oils to help you be calm and focused, such as lavender and clary sage.

🐠 Journaling: free-writing, unedited flow – just a few pages in the morning. Don’t worry if it looks messy, just let the process happen without focusing in the outcome.

🐠 Painting / drawing: get the colours out and paint your feelings! I love this one 😉 Notice if you feel happy, sad, angry,… then notice where in your body do you feel this feeling… what colour is it? Separate the story from the feeling… painting the feeling will help you process it and letting it go if you need to.

🐠 Yoga Nidra: this ancient practice will help you release and relax, opening that portal to the subconscious, allowing you to open up to other realms… If you’d like a link to this Wednesday’s Yoga Nidra recording so you can practice the next few nights send me a PM.

🐠 Dance / body movement – another favourite of mine 😂 Allow your body to move without restrictions! Music / no music. Dance to the sound of rain. Big movements, small movements, let your body go and do its thing…!

I hope you enjoy these next few days and you get time to try some of these, let us know how it felt in the comments below👇🏽

Truth and dare – testing out our own new ways

It is undeniable that there is a huge need for change, collectively as well as personally. This is a strong energy, whether we like it or not. It feels like when our forever favourite jacket just doesn’t do it anymore or when we realise that we stopped enjoying our favourite breakfast – this was a while ago… but, why do we keep eating it then? Inertia. This is the auto-pilot state. This is us resisting, not hearing, ignoring while everything else screams: TRY SOMETHING NEW. And perhaps we are able to still keep some of our old security like we bought our home, still have a stable job and money in the bank… but how is this useful when everything else evolves to a different place? It is not. Therefore, our best bet is to let go…

The Sun and Mercury enter Aquarius this week Tuesday, bringing good chances for new connections and opportunities – and perhaps some surprise news!

If you have been feeling particularly rebellious or have found others behaving this way recently, this could be due to Mars meeting Uranus in Taurus this Wednesday. Uranus in Taurus already brought in a very volatile energy and now Mars injects the action in this conjunction. Watch out for small accidents, people acting in erratic ways and watch out for out of control fire, literally and metaphorically.

Mars in Taurus squares Jupiter in Aquarius on Saturday, calling us to experience and expand our own creativity by acting on it – time to try new things out! This is when we’d feel like trying some of our new ‘crazy’ ideas and go mad… and, why not?!
Venus in Capricorn sextiles Neptune in Pisces showering us with relaxing, lovey dovey, arty vibes … what is not to like?

We will get some evaluation time on Sunday when the Sun meets Saturn in Aquarius – time to apply our common sense and reflect on what works and what doesn’t. Mercury will start retrograding the week after, which will reinforce our reflection time.

Thinking without ‘the box’

The year 2020 will be remembered by most as one of the hardest, most unusual years. Covid19 challenged our sense of security, our sense of freedom, our economy and safety. It challenged our mental health and our resilience. We just wanted 2020 to be over. ASAP.

This is 2021 and little has changed. We already knew things would not change. But this didn’t stop us from wishing ourselves back to normality while zooming our New Years Eve with friends and relatives. What normality? The way things were before. Why? Because we felt safe. Really? Not really, but this ‘old way’ is all we know. So even though it wasn’t working anymore, we still felt safe.

Aaaahhh… Here we go.

The thing is that these next few years are going to shift us forwards whether we want it or not. And, as we know, resistance is the root of all suffering. So we want to shift with the times and not get left behind. Why would we want to avoid our own evolution?

This week Mercury meets Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius squaring Uranus retrograde in Taurus. In English, this is beyond ‘thinking outside the box’, we are now getting rid of the box. We want to expand and grow (Jupiter) our thinking and communications (Mercury) in completely new and untested ways (Aquarius). There may be more news about restrictions (Saturn), but as long as Jupiter is close to Saturn these won’t be too bad, so we will be able to breathe.

In the early morning of Wednesday (5am in London, UK) we will have a new moon in Capricorn. This will be in exactly the same degree as last year’s new moon in Capricorn, allowing a second chace for us to deal with those same Capricorn issues we were facing a year ago but in a very different way, with a very different approach. This is a Sun + Moon + Pluto conjunction in the same degree, allowing for a huge transformation.

Capricorn deals with security, ambition, career, social status, planning… have these changed during the last year? What is security for me now? How do I plan things amidst so much uncertainty? Has my career been threatened? Does it have to evolve and change with the times? How can I reinvent this area of my life? Just a few prompts for a bit of journaling work gearing to this Wednesday’s new moon. Sit and write or record your thoughts and then set your intentions out on Wednesday. This is a great time for manifesting, but in order to manifest our intentions have to be crystal clear.

The week ends with a square between Jupiter in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus bringing in a strong ‘crazy scientist’ energy, mad new technology, inclusion of minorities, new resources becoming available… Uranus in Taurus could be working remotely, cryptocurrency or being caring towards the Earth. Great time to max our creativity in ways never seen before!
